photo assignment: pushing through hesitation

It's been a couple of weeks since the last photo assignment!  If you would like to check back on the previous ones, I've put them all together in one place up in the navigation bar.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who feels intimidated to take pictures in certain places, like stores for instance.  Whenever I'm out shopping and I see a display or an item that gets me thinking "wow, this would make a great picture" I hesitate and start looking around to see who's watching.  Irrational?  I don't know.  I have this vision of the manager coming over to ask what I'm doing and kicking me out of the store.

Some of you might not hesitate to whip out your camera and snap pictures at any given moment, which is fabulous. There are also some of you who do hesitate in specific places or settings.

Assignment:  Getting comfortable with that awkward hesitation.  What would happen if you didn't think about it and you took your camera out for 1 click?  I would love to see that picture and I would love to know how you pushed beyond your initial intimidation.  Of course I'm also interested to know your "place".  Take as much time with this one as you need - then come back and leave a link in the comments on this post.

Did you see this week's In The Garden gallery?  Lot's of beautiful garden snaps!  There is still plenty of time for you to submit your picture.  Also, the newsletter goes out tomorrow.  Sign up here to subscribe.  See you back here on Sunday for next week's photo prompt.  Have a good weekend!

I have a thing about "testing" the rules about taking photos in stores. In the bigger ones, I always ask first, but in the smaller, Mom & Pop joints or more boho type places, I don't feel at all uneasy. But I think it's just my nature because I tend to push the rules in other areas in my life too (70mph really means to go 80mph in my book! ; ) ).

Anyway, here's the link to the photo i took last week at a boho type store. I also tell myself, that I won't ever see these people in my life again---that helps, too!

I know that the fact I don't take my camera in "public" is holding me back...Thanks for the prompt!
