Gallery 7 {Black & White}

Hi again !! Last year's black & white gallery was amazing - have a look. I can't wait to see what you share this week :)

What programs are you all using to convert to black and white? I mainly use photoshop, and over the years I've collect a ton of great actions. What I've been using on my photos for the last year is the RadLab filter, which is really easy to work with, and a lot of fun. I've heard great things about picMonkey but I've only just played around with it. Definitely a program worth checking out. Tell me more about your favorite editing software in the comments.

Please add your photo to the flickr group after linking up here ~ Welcome new players! Feel free to join in at anytime! It's one photo per person, please!

*On a personal note: we are down to the end of the school year here at my house with a lot of kid stuff on the schedule. I'll do my best to visit each of your photos, but if I don't make it to your blog, please know that I appreciate your contribution & support here. Things will be slowing down for me mid-June, and I'll have a lot more time to be on my computer :)

hi bella! your shot is lovely in black & white. i shoot a LOT with my iphone so I use apps to get the b&w effect. one of my favorite apps to shoot in b&w is called 6x6. good luck with the end of the school year!

Hi Bella,

How fitting is your comment at the end of your post about being busy - that is exactly what I wrote about in my Vacation Dreaming post with my black and white photo. Enjoy the end of the year and thanks for hosting this party every week!

Great image, Bella! I usually use a Gradient Map layer in Photoshop Elements to convert my images to b&w. I often duplicate the layer to get a more intense effect.

I love color so much, but black and white can be so effective, nice art work!!

Hi Bella
Cool image, nice drama in the clouds...looks like the calm before the storm..
My first real attempt at B&W, using Lightroom..

What a moody photo—I love it! (If I want to turn a color photo to b&w, I just do it in iPhoto by turning down the saturation. Pretty low-tech, I know.)

Love those clouds !

fantastic black & white landscape Bella - and the clouds are delicious!
I use the b&w options to convert in PSE, generally add levels adjustments, sometimes gradients, and often use the b&w as a layer over the original using different blending modes and sometimes a quick 'detail' pass through Topaz Detail.
